Youth WASH Coalition Africa

Our Work
Our programs are built on four (4) pillars:
1. Research
2. Advocacy
3. Awareness
4. Capacity Building

WASH Survey
The WASH survey primarily targets schools and communities. A baseline study is an essential tool for both the planning phase and for monitoring activities at later stages of the project. The purpose of a baseline study is to build on current strengths and get information to make plans that will prevent or solve problems. In-school programs, similar challenges appear again and again. Therefore a small, but worthwhile survey will usually give sufficient information for planning. In most cases a representative sample of schools in different parts of a county is sufficient.
WASH SOCCER TOURNAMENT
The program is aimed at social mobilization, awareness campaign, education, and community and youth mobilization towards achieving youth, water, and sanitation and hygiene targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 and African Water Vision 2025 in the communities through youth participation for Developmental change.

ANNUAL YOUTH WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE SUMMIT
Annual Youth Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Summit is an annual event hosted by the Youth WASH Coalition Africa to engage with youth across Africa on the most pressing topics facing our generation with respect to the attainment of SDG 6 and come up with scalable solutions and recommendations.
WASH IN SCHOOLS
WASH in School is a peer advocacy and mobilization campaign geared towards improved access to clean drinking water, basic sanitation facilities and hygiene education to schools in Liberia.

Through this program LYWC work with schools and relevant stakeholders to establish a club, provide mentorship and trainings for the active participation of students in WASH related activities.
